Frequently Asked Questions
Infant colic refers to long episodes of intense, hard-to-soothe crying in an otherwise healthy baby. It’s very common and affects up to 40% of infants in the first months of life.
The most widely accepted criteria for diagnosing infant colic are known as Wessel’s “rule of 3”: crying for more than 3 hours a day, at least 3 days a week, for more than 3 weeks. Other signs can also appear, although not in every baby. These may include excess gas, a swollen or bloated tummy, facial redness, abdominal tension, or the baby pulling the knees up toward the stomach.
Easycol BABY+® is a dietary supplement made with lactase, the natural enzyme that breaks down and digests lactose, the sugar found in both breast milk and formula. By converting lactose into its two simple sugars, glucose and galactose, it helps newborns absorb energy more easily and supports healthy, steady growth and development.
Easycol BABY+® is a natural and well tolerated product made only with ingredients that already exist in the human body. Its formula contains water, the lactase enzyme which is normally produced in the digestive tract, and glycerol, a compound that comes from normal lipid metabolism.
Lactose
Lactose is the natural sugar found in milk. It is a source of energy for your baby and is present in both breast milk and formula.
Lactase
Lactase is the gentle enzyme the body uses to digest lactose. It breaks lactose into two simple sugars, glucose and galactose, so your baby can absorb them easily and turn them into energy. When babies have low lactase levels, they may experience gas, bloating, or fussiness after feeding.
Easycol BABY+® can be used from the very first day of life.
Easycol BABY+® can be given at every feeding until your baby no longer shows signs of digestive discomfort. Most babies improve around 4 months of age. When you notice your baby is feeling better, you can slowly reduce the number of drops until it is no longer needed.
If the discomfort returns, you can simply go back to the previous amount.
When using Easycol BABY+® with formula or expressed breast milk, prepare the bottle about 30 minutes before feeding. Add 4 drops, shake well, and let it sit so the lactase can work gently on the lactose.
Place the recommended drops on a spoon and give them to your baby right before breastfeeding.
Scientific studies show that newborns whose milk is treated with lactase often cry for a shorter period of time. This suggests that lactase based support, such as Easycol BABY+®, can help ease digestive discomfort linked to temporary lactase deficiency.
Easycol BABY+® should be stored below 25ºC. After opening, keep it in a dry place and leave it in its original container.
Yes. Easycol BABY+® is gluten free, and none of its ingredients come from animals. The glycerol is plant based, and the lactase is obtained from yeast.
Easycol BABY+® is not a medicine. It is a natural food supplement designed to support your baby’s digestion.
Easycol BABY+® is not a medicine, it is safe, free of side effects, and suitable from the very first day of life.
